Can I see you perform?
This question gets asked all the time. The answer generally is no, however if I am playing in a public forum, you are welcome to attend the event. I promise that I would never bring anyone to your private party or event. To me, this just dosen't seem professional.
Do you provide references?
I sure will. I can email you names of clients who have given me permission to give out their contact information and you can hear what they think directly. You can also visit the "testimonials" page on this website, or read reviews of my services on my wedding wire store front ( see "links page")
Do you have backup equipment?
I sure do, and If I ever encounter a problem, you will never know it's happening!
Will we have the opportunity to go over the details prior to the wedding?
Yes. I meet all of my clients twice. The first time to meet and greet, sign paperwork, and secure payment. We will then meet a week or 2 prior to your reception or event to go over all of the fine tuning and details. If you are out of town, we can substitue this with a conference call.
Will you play the music too loud?
During the cocktail and dinner hours, the music is played at a soft comfortable level to allow conversation. During dancing time obviously I crank it up a bit. I do walk around the room at different times of the night to make sure it's comfortable and not too loud. It's so annoying when you can't even hear yourself think! I try to mantain a good quality level all night. If your opinion is different than mine regarding the level, let me know and I'll gladly make the appropriate adjustment!
What do you wear?
Depending on the event, it changes. For weddings mainly a tuxedo or a black suit. If you have specific way you would like to me to dress, please let me know at our meetings and I'll gladly meet your demands, unless you want me to dress up like a chicken!
Do you have an assistant or do you work alone?
This depends on the size of your crowd. Generally events where guests are less than 100, I work alone. Larger events I am generally assisted. I will always let you know in advance if I will have someone helping me on the date of your event.
Will you send someone else?
NO. However if something happens to me, I do have backup coverage of a professional that is equivalent to me that I would have fill in for me. This does not happen often, but as I tell clients, this isn't a job where you can call in sick. You can rest assured that I will be your DJ, and in the event of an emergency you will have one of my experienced associates ready to go in full force making a smooth transition.
What kind of equipment do you use?
For Speakers I use BOSE and JBL depending on the event. I use Denon and RANE mixers and processors, Sure and Senheiser Microphones and Dell HP Inspiron Computers. All of the music is played on high quality, non-pirated .mp3 files.
Do you play requests?
YES, as a matter of fact I encourage it. I will take 15 songs from you, the client, then I will take requests from your guests as well with discression. I will also take a short list of "songs you do NOT want played". By the way, the requests I take have to fit my format ie: no Chicken Dance, Macarena, etc.
Will you be willing to play overtime?
Yes I will. This will depend on several aspects. If I do not have another event scheduled after yours which I will discuss with you up front and I need permission from your banquet manager. In some cases there is an additional fee for overtime. I need to be notified that you would like to go overtime no later thant 20 minutes before the scheduled contracted ending time.
